Sculpting Process
This project explores a technology pipeline for generating sculptural furniture geometry using generative artificial intelligence.
Custom-trained visual models were used to produce the silhouette of the robot chair, combining depth maps and generative
image systems to translate graphic forms into volumetric structures.
The resulting imagery informed toolpath generation and fabrication workflows using Grasshopper, Stable Diffusion,
and depth estimation systems such as MiDaS. ZBrush was used as the primary volumetric modeling tool, enabling the
transformation of AI-generated images into sculptural surfaces.
The goal of the project is to explore robotics as a method for manufacturing unconventional furniture geometries,
combining generative computation, digital sculpting, and robotic carving.
